Celebrating World Intellectual Property Day, the State Patent Bureau of the Republic of Lithuania (SPB) organized international conference „Intellectual Property and Education” that took place in Vilnius on April 11−12. International conference "Intellectual Property and Education" organized in the framework of bilateral cooperation Agreement between the EUIPO and the SPB for 2017.
More than 100 intellectual property and education specialists discussed the intellectual property in education, intellectual property and education interconnection and the steps from the creative idea to its practical application at the international conference "Intellectual Property and Education".
The Conference was attended by Mr Paulius Griciunas, Vice-Minister of Justice, Mr Saulius Zybartas, representative of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Lithuania.
Intellectual property in education were discussed by high-level officers from the World Intellectual Property organization (WIPO), European Union Intellectual Property office (EUIPO), United Kingdom Intellectual Property Office, National Intellectual property center of Georgia, Romanian Copyright Office, Copyright Information and Anti-Piracy Centre of Finland, lawyers and academic community. PUMA SE representative shared business experience in the field of fight against counterfeiting.
The conference was very useful to the participants in order to foster the creativity and inventiveness of young people and at the same time raising awareness about the value and respect of intellectual property rights, whether their own or those of others.
